The online reporting tool is NOT meant to be used in emergency situations or when you need an immediate response. It is available for certain non-urgent situations in order to make it easier for community members to report certain activities to the police. If you are uncertain of the urgency of your incident call 911.

HOW TO FILE AN ONLINE POLICE REPORT

Please note that only certain types of incidents can be reported online. 

Hate, Harassing Calls, Hit & Run, Identity Theft, Lost Property, Theft, Vandalism, Minor Vehicle Collision, and Tips for Vice or Narcotics.

For non-emergencies that require a police response, please dial 877-275-5273.

IF THIS IS AN EMERGENCY OR IF A CRIME IS IN PROGRESS, 

PLEASE DIAL 9-1-1 FOR IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE.

IS COMMUNITY ONLINE REPORTING RIGHT FOR YOU?

Your incident must meet the following criteria:

  • The incident is not an emergency.
  • The incident occurred within the City of Los Angeles.
  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • No one was injured as a result of this incident.
  • There are no known suspects.
  • The incident did not occur on the state highway.
  • No firearms were involved in the incident.
  • You must have internet access and an email address.
